Advent & Christmas Resources

The season of Advent always has had strong significance every year but this year that seems to be stronger, needed and timely. This journey which we take together focusing on Hope, Love, Joy & Peace is needed and welcomed. Christmas is good news. After a tough year, Christmas brings comfort and joy to you and to a world that is weary and hurting. The message of the baby born in Bethlehem is that God is in the mix. God does not stand far off, watching from a distance. God comes to us, walks with us and stays with us.

As we journey towards Advent be sure to gift yourself a bit of time for yourself –

Here are a few resources that may be useful for you to make that bit of time for yourself –

  • A busy person’s DIY Advent retreat – A booklet of prayers and reflections during the Advent season that you can do at your own pace For all the “busy’ people out there to encourage them to gift themselves a bit of time for themselves over Advent. Even if they are not ‘religious’ they may find a few of the things in it useful – Take from it what you need. –

Walking Advent with the Scriptures – Journeying Together through Advent –
Download/print the daily scripture calendar from the link below – With the scripture reference and a short thought, focus for each day – and then join us for a short video input for each day at 12:30pm on our Facebook page from representatives of the different Christian Denominations from around Ireland – @theCCPCDublin

To accompany this series – here is a short resource prepared by Fr Damian McNeice on the ‘O’ Antiphons
