First Confession and First Holy Communion 2024

First Confession and First Holy Communion are only for children baptised in the Roman Catholic Church. Every child must be registered with our Parish and provide proof of baptism in order to receive the sacraments of First Confession and First Holy Communion.

Registration opens on Monday 2nd October and closes on Friday 27th October 2023.

Dates for First Holy Communion 2024

• Saturday 27^th April:          10 am – Scoil Mhuire
• Saturday 27^th April:          12 noon – Gaelscoil na Camóige
• Saturday 11^th May:           10 am – Gaelscoil Chluain Dolcáin
• Saturday 18^th May:           10 am – St. Joseph’s BNS
• Saturday 18^th May:           11 am – Clonburris NS   (in Clonburris Church)
• Saturday 25^th May:           10 am – Scoil Áine NS
• Saturday 25^th May:           12 noon – Scoil Íde NS

First Confession/First Reconciliation will take place during Lent 2024. Arrangements of dates and times will be made with each school closer to the time.

Our Parish will provide some resources directly to parents throughout the year, as they are made available through the diocese, to assist them and their children in preparing for these Sacraments. This is in addition to and complimentary of the Grow in Love programme which is being done in the RE classes in school.
