With the Apostolic Letter of 11 October 2011, Porta fidei, Pope Benedict XVI declared a Year of Faith. This year will begin on 11 October 2012, on the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council, and will conclude on 24 November 2013, the Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King.
It is hoped that, during this special year, the People of God will develop their encounter with God through the authentic witness to faith and deepen their understanding of their faith.
There will be many opportunities during this year for us to do this, both as a parish and within the Combined Catholic Parishes of Clondalkin, our Pastoral Area. For example, in November there will be a series of 4 evenings looking at our understanding and appreciation of the Mass. (More details to follow.)
